Baylor's women's tennis team will continue fall competition as it hosts the seventh annual H-E-B Baylor Invitational on Sept. 28-30 at the Baylor Tennis Center on campus.
The event features 16 schools and nearly 100 athletes competing in three 32-player singles draws, green (A), gold (B) and white (C), and three 16-team draws of doubles.
"We are excited to be hosting so many quality tennis programs this weekend," head coach Joey Scrivano said. "We have a nice mixture of universities from all over the country and our players are thrilled to be competing at home. This weekend will also give our fans an opportunity to get an early preview of this year's squad."
Teams participating include: Baylor, Abilene Christian, Army, Houston, Kentucky, Lamar, Louisiana-Lafayette, North Texas, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Sam Houston State, South Alabama, Southern Methodist, Tarleton State, TCU, and UT-San Antonio.
Six Baylor players will participate in the tournament's green draw, including senior Zuzana Zemenova (No. 7), junior Jana Bielikova, sophomores Lenka Broosova (No. 54) and Zuzana Chmelarova, and freshmen Karolina Filipiak and Taylor Ormond.
