WACO, Texas -
Baylor junior Csilla Borsanyi has been chosen as an at-large selection to the singles draw at the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships it was announced on Friday. Borsanyi, a transfer from Florida, will join sophomore Taylor Ormond, who was selected to the event after reaching the Main Draw Finals in the Wilson/ITA Southwest Regional.
"We are very excited for Csilla," said head coach Joey Scrivano. "She is making positive strides in her game and it is nice to see her efforts recognized. Playing well at the National Indoor will be a great way for her to cap off the fall season."
Borsanyi currently holds a 5-2 overall record this season after advancing to the semifinals of the ITA Southwest Regional last weekend. Borsanyi lost to the eventual regional champion Nina Munch-Soegaard of TCU by a 6-3, 6-3 score. Borsanyi was an ITA All-America selection during her freshman season at Florida after advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Singles Championships.
Ormond reached the Main Draw Finals of the Wilson/ITA Southwest Regional for the second straight season. As a freshman, Ormond fell in the finals to teammate Lenka Broosova. At last season's tournament, Ormond made a run to the Main Draw Semifinals before falling to Aurelija Miseviciute of Arkansas, currently the top-ranked player in the nation.
The top 32 players in the nation will compete in the singles main draw at the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships to be held on Nov. 6-9 at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va.
