FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Baylor (0-1) dropped its season opener on the road to Colorado State (1-0) at Moby Arena Friday night, 25-12, 25-11, 25-16. The Rams hit .529 for the match holding the Bears to just a .071 hitting percentage for the victory.
CSU's Marlee Reynolds had 13 kills on a .524 hitting percentage and Dedra Foss paced the Rams offense with 39 assists. The home team recorded 53 kills overall and Adrianna Culbert and Kelsey Snider had 11 and 10 kills apiece.
The Bears led 3-2 in set one, but never took another advantage in the match. In her college debut, freshman outside hitter Katie Staiger led Baylor in the losing effort with six kills.
