THE RUNDOWN
WACO, Texas - Baylor (1-3) took a weekend's worth of frustration out on SMU Tuesday night at the Ferrell Center as the Bears swept the Mustangs 25-17, 27-25, 25-22. Adrien Richburg set Baylor's single match record for attack percentage in a three-set match (1.000) with 10 kills on 10 attempts to lead Baylor.

The Bears entered the match hitting just .226 as a team after dropping three matches on the road in Colorado, but Baylor hit .421 in the victory with Laura Jones leading the way with 14 kills. Richburg needed just one kill to qualify for record book's minimum of 10 kills for attack percentage, and the sophomore middle hitter finished off her perfect match with a right-side attack on the 24th point of the final set.

Jones hit .429 and Zoe Adom hit .444 with 10 kills while Amy Rosenbaum paced Baylor's effort with 46 assists. Defensively, Richburg had seven assisted blocks while the Bears had 10.5 as a team. SMU's (2-2) Caroline Young had 11 kills in the losing effort, and the Mustangs hit .208 as a team in the loss.

HIGHLIGHTS
Adrien Richburg had 10 kills on 10 attempts to set a Baylor record for attack percentage in a 3-set match. She is the only player in school history to have 10 kills in a match without an error; Richburg passed the previous record held by Cory Silverston who had 15 kills on 16 attempts against Rice Oct. 7, 1992.
• Richburg was also just the third player in Big 12 history to have a perfect hitting percentage with a minimum of 10 kills joining Nebraska's Tracy Stalls (vs. Texas Tech; 13 for 13, 11/27/07) and Megan Korver (vs. Iowa State; 10 for 10, 09/25/98).
• Baylor swept SMU in three sets for the first time since Aug. 29, 2008 and leads the all-time series, 6-4, with a 4-1 record against the Mustangs at the Ferrell Center
Laura Jones posted her second straight double-digit kill match and the second-highest total of her career. Her career high came against Nevada Aug. 25, 2012 when she had 16; Jones needs one kill to reach the 200-mark for her career.
Amy Rosenbaum was one assist shy of her career high of 47 assists with 46 Tuesday night.
• Jones' .647 hitting percentage was the highest of her career for a match passing her previous high of .542 against Texas State Sept. 4, 2012.
Kayci Evans and Mackenzie Mayo each passed the 350-dig mark for their careers with Evans sitting at 355 after eight Tuesday night and Mayo at 353 after leading Baylor with 11 Tuesday.

STAT OF THE GAME I
421 - Baylor hit .421 for the match, which was the program's highest attack percentage since the Bears hit .440 in a three-set match with Jacksonville Sept. 19, 2010

STAT OF THE GAME II

TOP QUOTE
Coach Jim Barnes on Baylor's performance against SMU ... "That was the team I expect to see and better. We came out aggressive, we have to play better defense. Our defense is nowhere where we need to be. But, offensively we passed well. Amy really distributed the ball well, they couldn't tell where she was going. Our hitters hit like grown women tonight."

WHAT'S NEXT
Baylor takes on three opponents between Friday and Saturday in the Baylor Classic. The Bears will take on Tulsa Friday night at 7 p.m., UT Arlington Saturday at 10 a.m. and Mississippi State at 7 p.m.
