WACO, Texas - The Baylor volleyball team jumped out to a two-set lead, but could not hold on as No. 13 Kansas State rallied to win 3-2 (24-26, 20-25, 25-13, 25-17, 21-19) on Saturday night at the Ferrell Center.

Kansas State had the first match-point at 14-13, but Baylor tied the score on a block by Briana Tolbert and Ashley Byrd. The Wildcats jumped in front again at 15-14, but an Anna Breyfogle kill pulled the set even. Baylor earned its first set point on an Ashlie Christenson kill, but the Wilcats tied the score once again.

After a K-State match-point, Katie Sanders tied the score at 18 apiece with a kill. Taylor Barnes gave Baylor another set point with a kill on the front row but a Breyfogle service error tied the score at 19-19. Consecutive blocks by the Wildcats gave K-State the win 21-19 in the fifth set.

"You have to give Kansas State credit to come back after being down two sets," said head coach Jim Barnes. "Our serve-receive has been really good over the past six matches or so, but tonight we really struggled. We have to focus on how we played in the first two sets and then carry that into our matches this week."

Breyfogle and Sanders led the way for Baylor with 15 kills apiece, while Christenson chipped in nine kills. Tolbert and Byrd each finished with eight kills on the night. Barnes tallied 48 set assists and added a season-high six service aces.

Allison King led four players in double-digit digs with 21 digs on the night. Sanders tallied 13 digs, while Brittany Ridenour and Barnes collected 12 and 10 digs, respectively.

Baylor struggled with its net defense on the night, recording just five total blocks. K-State was able to put down 14 total blocks for the match.

With the loss, Baylor falls to 14-7 overall, 6-5 in the Big 12 Conference. The Bears return to action on Wednesday night with a road match at Iowa State.
