AUSTIN, Texas - The No. 1-ranked Texas Longhorns went undefeated in the Big 12 for the first time in school history, closing the regular season with a 25-20, 25-16, 25-14 victory over Baylor Saturday afternoon at Gregory Gymnasium. Haley Eckerman posted 20 kills, and the Longhorns (23-2, 16-0) hit .425 as a team headed into their 10th consecutive NCAA Tournament.
Baylor (12-20, 4-12) tied the first set at 18 apiece before the Longhorns closed with a 7-2 run and then carried the momentum into dominating wins in the final two sets. Eckerman didn't have an error on 34 attempts to hit .588 and Bailey Webster added 11 for the Longhorns.
Baylor's Zoe Adom shined in her final match as a Bear, as the senior had 16 kills helping her surpass the 900-career kills mark. She needed just 13 coming into the match to reach the milestone but added three more for good measure. The Bears' Kayci Evans also led the Bears in digs in her final match with eight, closing her career with 618. Both Adom and Evans were four-year players for Baylor.
