Jim Barnes promoted Jeremiah Tiffin to assistant coach after Mark Pryor's departure

WACO, Texas - Baylor head coach Jim Barnes announced Saturday the promotion of Jeremiah Tiffin to assistant coach and recruiting coordinator after the departure of Mark Pryor. Pryor took the head coaching vacancy at North Dakota this offseason paving the way for Tiffin, who served as director of operations in 2013, to fill Pryor's vacancy.
Tiffin has been a mainstay in Baylor's men's club volleyball program since he was an undergraduate student. After playing and coaching for the school's competitive team, he was the head women's volleyball coach at Hill College for two seasons from 2011-12.
"Jeremiah is an Baylor alum and has a great passion for everything Baylor," said Baylor head coach Jim Barnes. "He is an outstanding coach and will be a terrific recruiter for our program. It will be an easy transition, and the team is very excited to have him as part of our coaching staff."
Tiffin graduated from Baylor in 2005 and received a master's of education in 2007 at BU as well.
In addition, Barnes announced the spring schedule for the program's non-traditional season. Baylor will play host to UT-Arlington for two matches March , the Bears will participate in tournaments at Houston April 5 and Dallas April 19 while closing the spring with two matches at SMU April 26.
"The spring season has been going extremely well. The team is breaking records in our physical testing thanks to their hard work, and the direction of our strength coach, Keith Cation," said Barnes. "On the court, we are improving in every skill. We anticipate the 2014 season will be a very successful year for our team."
