May 31, 2013

Baylor volleyball’s 2013 signing class was recently ranked No. 19 nationally by prepvolleyball.com, making it the second top-20 class in as many years for the Bears, a feat that had never been accomplished in program history. The class ranks as the second-highest in the Big 12, behind only Texas at No. 5.

"This freshmen class will excite our fans,” head coach Jim Barnes said. “They are a very talented and mature group. I want to give special thanks to Mark Pryor (Associate Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator) for his tireless work on the road recruiting these student-athletes. Baylor is attracting some of the best players in the country and we are grateful to be a part of this great university."

Each member of the class, all from the state of Texas, was named to PrepVolleyball.com's Senior Aces list and include: Omotola Itiola (Oh-muh-tole-uh It-ee-ole-uh) a middle hitter from Carrollton Christian Academy, Katie Staiger, an outside hitter from Prestonwood Christian Academy and Morgan Reed, a setter from Reagan High School.
