2017 Baylor Volleyball Schedule

WACO, Texas – Baylor volleyball released its 29-match fall 2017 schedule Monday morning, announced by third-year head coach Ryan McGuyre.

Featuring 15 home matches and a total of 14 matches against nine NCAA teams from the 2016 postseason, the Bears will look to continue building on a remarkable ’16 campaign in hopes of securing the program’s first-ever back-to-back NCAA Tournament bids.

The Bears start the season with the annual Green and Gold Scrimmage, showcasing the 2017 team on Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. with free admission.

Baylor has a final exhibition tune up on Aug. 17, trekking to Rice for a 5 p.m. exhibition in Houston.

The regular season kicks off with the Hampton Inn & Suites Waco North Baylor Invitational, running Aug. 25-27, featuring Florida State, Illinois State, and UC Santa Barbara.

The 7 p.m. match with Florida State on Aug. 25 is Pack the House Night, with all tickets marked down to just $1.

The Bears then kick off a six-match road swing with the Cougar Challenge in Pullman, Wash., running Aug. 31-Sept. 2, hosted by Washington State and featuring Quinnipiac and the College of Charleston.

BU then heads even further west, joining Nevada and BYU at the Outrigger Resorts Volleyball Challenge, hosted Sept. 7-9 by Hawai’i.

Baylor returns to the mainland for a midweek versus LSU on Sept. 13 before the second and final home tournament, with the Baylor Classic running Sept. 15-16 and bringing in Texas State, St. John’s, and UTSA.

The Bears then move into the 16-match Big 12 slate, kicking off Sept. 20 with Texas Tech in Waco at 7 p.m. and closing on Nov. 25 back in the Ferrell Center with Texas at 2 p.m.

NCAA Tournament play kicks off the following weekend with the First and Second Rounds hosted by the top 16 seeds Nov. 30-Dec. 2.

The Regionals rounds go Dec. 8-9, leading into the NCAA National Championships on Dec. 14-16.

Baylor is coming off a 22-12 (9-7 Big 12) campaign in 2016, returning All-American outside Katie Staiger and All-Big 12 selections, Jana Brusek and Camryn Freiberg.
