The 2013 Baylor volleyball campaign starts Friday in Fort Collins, Colo. as the Bears take on Colorado State. However, Baylor fans can catch a glimpse of the Bears' squad Tuesday night in Waco at the Ferrell Center at 6 p.m. as the team will host its annual Green / Gold Scrimmage.
Head Coach Jim Barnes will divide the teams, and the Bears will compete in three full sets to 25 points. The event is open to the public and all Baylor fans are encouraged to attend.
"The scrimmage is a great experience for our players and fans. The team will get to rehearse our game-day schedule and play in uniform for the first time," Barnes said. "It certainly helps them get familiar with what we do on game day and get the nerves out playing in front of a crowd for the first time this season."
The Waco chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will have its kickoff meeting following the scrimmage, and the group will be in attendance for the scrimmage. Following the event, fans will be able to pick up autographed posters and meet the team located in the Stone Room where free pizza will be provided to those in attendance.
After Friday's match on the road with Colorado State, the Bears travel to Greeley, Colo. to take on Cal Poly and Northern Colorado Saturday before Baylor's home opener with SMU Sept. 3.
