The 2013 Baylor volleyball campaign begins Friday night as the Bears will be in Fort Collins, Colo. to take on Colorado State. The match begins at 7 p.m. CDT, and both teams are coming off 20-win seasons with several new faces taking the floor in 2013.

Baylor lost four starters to graduation last season while the Rams lost three. Each team will return an all-conference selection with the Bears returning senior outside hitter Zoe Adom from the 2012 All-Big 12 First Team and the Rams will see junior setter Deedra Foss come back after an all-conference season in the Mountain West.

The Rams are coming off a 21-8 season and an 18th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament while the Bears finished 20-12 in 2012 and were one win shy of returning to the national tournament for the second-straight year.

The match marks only the second time the two teams have met; previously CSU took a 3-1 win over Baylor in Waco, Nov. 30, 2001. CSU received votes in the 2013 AVCA Preseason Top 25 poll and was ranked as high as No. 24 in 2012.

Baylor is 19-16 all-time in season opening matches, and is 7-2 in openers with head coach Jim Barnes at the helm.
