WACO, Texas -
The Baylor volleyball team is ranked No. 28 according to the Pablo Ranking released on Sept. 15. The 8-2 Bears will take on Texas Tech at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night in the Ferrell Center.
The rankings system is a computerized algorithm which analyzes probabilistic approach to volleyball matches. Points scored in each match are used to determine the probability that a team wins a particular match. In addition to the "Pure Points" approach, the Pablo Ranking takes into account a team's win-loss record.
Penn State holds the No. 1 ranking in the country, while four Baylor opponents for the 2008 season are also included in the rankings. Nebraska is ranked No. 2, while Texas and Kansas State are ranked 10th and 13th, respectively. Oregon, who defeated Baylor 3-0 last Saturday, is ranked No. 9 in the latest rankings.
