WACO, Texas - Baylor and TCU each have one win in Big 12 Conference play, and the Bears (9-11, 1-3) will look to propel themselves back into the mix of Big 12 contenders with the first of three-straight matches at the Ferrell Center Wednesday night. The Horned Frogs (12-7, 1-4) come to Waco for a televised match with Baylor (FSSW), set to tip at 7 p.m.
Both squads picked up its Big 12 wins against West Virginia; the Bears beat the Mountaineers on the road Oct. 9 in three sets while TCU took its victory at home Oct. 2 in four sets.
Baylor will try to use the momentum of home Big 12 matches after a 1-3 start beginning with TCU. Then the Bears will play Oklahoma Saturday at 1 p.m., and will close the homestand with a match against Kansas State Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
Fox Sports Southwest will carry the Bears' 7 p.m. matchup with TCU with John Morris bringing play-by-play and Baylor volleyball-ex Kristen Bates on the color.
The Bears lead the all-time series with TCU, 9-1, sweeping last year's season series in the Horned Frogs' first season in the Big 12.
TCU ranks fifth in the Big 12 in hitting percentage at a .241 mark while the Horned Frogs rank third in service aces at 1.24 per set. TCU's Mattie Burleson ranks seventh in the Big 12 in blocks per set (1.17) while libero Shane Peters ranks eighth in digs per set (3.38).
The Bears are led offensively by Zoe Adom, who ranks ninth in the Big 12 in kills per set at 3.07. Defensively, Mackenzie Mayo ranks ninth in digs per set at a 3.35 average.
