Baylor returns home on Saturday night as the Bears play host to Colorado at 6:30 p.m. at the Ferrell Center.
The Bears are coming off a 3-2 win at Kansas on Wednesday, recording their second five-game win in Big 12 play this season. Baylor had to make an unexpected landing in Manhattan, Kan. and then drive the remaining 90 miles to Lawrence due to inclement weather in eastern Kansas.
Baylor placed four hitters in double-figure kills for the match, led by Katie Sanders with 18 kills. Haley Thomas recorded a career-high 15 kills, while Anna Breyfogle and Ashlie Christenson recorded 14 and 13 kills, respectively.
Taylor Barnes recorded 60 set assists to go along with four kills and nine digs. Sarah Grace tallied a team-high 18 digs and passed at a .963 clip (50-of-52) in serve-receive. Sanders added 12 digs to notch her 13th double-double of the season, and Kristen Schramek recorded 10 digs.
Baylor came out strong in game one, winning 30-24, but Kansas took a 201 advantage winning games two and three. The Bears powered back in game four to even the series, hitting .333 (19-5-42) and recording five total blocks. Baylor cruised through the deciding fifth game, winning 3-2.
Colorado enters the match winless in Big 12 play following a 3-2 loss at home to Iowa State on Wednesday. The Buffaloes have experienced a touch of bad luck as they have dropped six conference matches in five games. Baylor rallied for a 3-2 win in Boulder in the first meeting of the team this season.
Alex Buth and Mallori Gibson lead the way for Colorado with 228 and 221 kills, respectively. Colorado set a school record with 26.0 blocks against Iowa State on Wednesday.
