WACO, Texas – Baylor volleyball head coach Ryan McGuyre announced the signing of Sydney Sacra to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.
"I am absolutely thrilled about the signing of Sydney Sacra,” McGuyre said. “She was our No. 1 choice at middle blocker. Her physicality, strength and explosiveness will make her a dominant force at Baylor. More importantly, she is an exceptional fit to the mission and purpose behind our volleyball program. She has faced adversity with inspiring character and competes with passion and integrity."
Sacra, a 6-foot-4 middle blocker from Needville, Texas, was named a PrepVolleyball.com Class of 2018 Senior Aces in September. That honor marks her as one of the top 250 recruits in the 2018 signing class.
Out of the middle, Sacra currently averages 3.2 kills per set on a .332 attack efficiency. She also averages 1.0 blocks per set for the Needville Blue Jays.
McGuyre will add to an elite squad that has registered back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since the 1992-93 seasons.
