Baylor looks to snap a three-match losing streak as it hosts 25th-ranked Colorado, which is red-hot after winning seven in a row, in Big 12 Conference volleyball Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Ferrell Center.
The Bears will be facing its third of four consecutive ranked opponents as they are coming off a loss to No. 12 Missouri Wednesday in Columbia. The Buffaloes swept Texas Tech their last time out Saturday in Boulder.
Baylor is led by junior outside hitter Nicole LeBlanc, who ranks 10th in the Big 12 with 3.62 kills per game and 13th with 2.83 digs per game, and senior middle blocker Stella Odion, who is hitting .318 and averaging 3.15 kills per game. Defensively, junior middle blocker Desiree Guilliard-Young ranks second in the league with 1.76 blocks per game in conference matches only, while sophomore Kristen Schramek ranks seventh in the Big 12 with 3.67 digs per game.
Colorado is led by Allie Griffin, who ranks second in the Big 12 with 4.96 kills per game, and Amber Sutherland, who averages 3.60 kills per game and leads the team with 2.77 digs per game.
Colorado leads the all-time series against Baylor, 18-2, and have won the last 10 meetings. The Bears have not beaten the Buffaloes since back-to-back wins Oct. 27, 1999, and Oct. 4, 2000. Colorado holds an 8-1 advantage in Waco and won this year's previous meeting Oct. 5, 3-2, in Boulder.
The Bears return to action when they host No. 1 Nebraska Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Ferrell Center.
