BAYLOR (14-15, 5-12 Big 12) at Oklahoma (6-20, 1-16 Big 12)
Saturday, Nov. 19 - 7 p.m.
McCasland Field House - Norman, Okla.
Baylor hits the road looking to snap a five-match losing streak against Oklahoma Saturday at 7 p.m. at McCasland Field House in Norman, Okla.
The Bears were downed by top-ranked Nebraska, 3-0, Wednesday night in Waco, while Oklahoma, also on a five-match skid, were swept by Iowa State in Ames.
Baylor is led by junior outside hitter Nicole LeBlanc, who ranks 12th in the Big 12 in both kills (3.52 per game) and digs (2.86 per game), and senior middle blocker Stella Odion, who ranks 10th in the league with a .311 hitting percentage and 14th with 1.15 blocks per game. Sophomore Kristen Schramek ranks eighth in the conference with 3.54 digs per game, while junior middle blocker Desiree Guilliard-Young ranks second in the Big 12 with 1.78 blocks per game in league play only.
Oklahoma is led by Eliane Santos, who ranks fourth in the Big 12 in both kills per game (3.94) and blocks per game (1.53), while Joanna Schmitt averages 3.17 kills and 2.35 digs per game. Sarah Weiland leads the league with 0.43 aces per game, and Hannah Sharp leads the team with 2.46 digs per game.
Oklahoma leads the all-time series against Baylor, 20-11, but only 10-9 since Big 12 play began in 1996. Baylor followed a six-match winning streak with a four-match losing streak in the series, but have bounced back to take two of the last three. The Bears won this season's previous meeting, 3-1, in Waco and have a chance to even up the Big 12 series with the Sooners.
The Bears return to action when they travel to face Kansas State Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Ahearn Fieldhouse in Manhattan, Kan.
