2010 Volleyball Accomplishments

WACO, Texas - Baylor volleyball head coach Jim Barnes' squad turned in a program-high-tying third consecutive winning season in 2010, and Big 12-era best third consecutive season with at least nine conference wins, with a 16-15 overall record and 9-11 league mark.

Over the course of the season, the 2010 Bears held their spot as one of the best defensive teams in the country, holding the No. 1 digs-per-set ranking three separate weeks. The Bears finished the season ranked third in the NCAA and first in the Big 12.

In addition, the Baylor volleyball team was successful in the classroom, earning three academic all-Big 12 selections and two ESPN CoSIDA academic all-district selections.

2010 Team Accomplishments
• 16-15 overall, 9-11 Big 12
• Finished sixth in the Big 12
• Recorded third consecutive winning season, and fourth in the last five years
• Won at least nine conference matches for the third year in a row, a program-best
• Led Big 12 and ranked No. 3 nationally in digs per set, the second-best average ever at Baylor
• Three Academic All-Big 12 Selections and two ESPN Academic All-District selections
• Won the UCF/Radisson Classic tournament title in Orlando, Fla.
• Recorded more than 10.0 blocks in a match 10 times
• Recorded 2,231 digs during the season, the fourth-highest total ever at Baylor
• Racked up at least 80 digs in a match 11 times, including four over 100
• Led opponents in hitting percentage, kills, assists, digs, and total blocks on the season
• Brought over 11,000 fans to the Ferrell Center, the second-highest total in BU history
• Averaged 791 fans per home match, also the second-highest in program history
• Received votes in the AVCA Top 25 poll in three different weeks
Caitlyn Trice and Allison King combined for most digs by any set of teammates in the Big 12
Elizabeth Graham and Torri Campbell combined for more kills per set than any set of Big 12 teammates

Senior Elizabeth Graham
• Earned All-Big 12 First Team selection
• Earned Baylor Classic all-tournament team honors
• Led Baylor in hitting percentage, kills and blocks
• Set school record with 13 blocks in a four-set match against Stephen F. Austin
• Recorded at least 10 kills in 18 matches, and at least five blocks 15 times
• Led all Big 12 middle blockers with 3.18 kills per set in conference play
• Recorded a career-high 18 kills at Oklahoma on Oct. 30
• Earned Academic All-Big 12 First Team honors

Senior Caitlyn Trice
• Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week (Aug. 30)
• Baylor Classic Defensive Most Valuable Player and All-Tournament Team
• UCF/Radisson Classic All-Tournament Team
• Broke school records for digs per set with 5.28 and total digs with 623
• Became first player in BU history and second in Big 12 history with 600-plus digs in a season
• Ranked second in the Big 12 and 25th nationally in digs per set
• Tied a school record with 31 digs in a four-set match against Dayton
• Recorded at least 10 digs in all 31 matches, at least 20 digs in 14 matches, and at least 30 digs six times
• Earned Academic All-Big 12 First Team honors

Sophomore Torri Campbell
• UCF/Radisson Classic Most Valuable Player and All-Tournament Team
• Ranked second on the team in hitting percentage (.305), kills (321) and blocks (102)
• Recorded 17 matches with at least 10 kills, including six in a row from Sept. 4-11
• Had a career-high 18 kills in a five-set win at Texas A&M
• Recorded at least five blocks in six matches
• Ranked second on the team in service aces with 24, including five at UTSA on Sept. 1
