
WT Falls to Oklahoma State on the Road, 4-1

STILLWATER, Okla. – No. 36 Baylor women's tennis dropped its Sunday afternoon match to No. 26 Oklahoma State at Greenwood Tennis Center, 4-1, after a competitive battle between the two teams.
The Bears (10-5) are now at a 6-2 conference record after losing their first road match of the season. OSU (8-6) has a conference record of 5-2, defeating the Bears in a bounce-back win.
THE RUNDOWN
Baylor started strong with Kennedy Gibbs and Luna Ivkovic dominating Melisa Ercan and Karolina Lincer to win their match, 6-2. Oklahoma State responded by defeating the Bears on the next two courts to take the doubles point.
The 12th-ranked Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp topped Zuzanna Kubacha and Gabrielle Villegas on Court One, 6-3, while Olivia Lincer and Luca Udvardy defeated Na Dong and Alian Zack, 6-4.
Singles started out with a point coming in for the Bears, as Karolina Lincer defaulted her Court Six match against Villegas to even out the match after the Bear found a 5-0 lead.
The Cowgirls picked back up with Komar defeating the No. 117 Kubacha, 6-1, 7-6(2). Finishing next, No. 27 Nijkamp defeated Zack, 6-2, 6-4.
The match was clinched at the No. five singles spot, as Melisa Ercan defeated a Ivkovic, 6-4, 7-5.
Dong was in the midst of a three-set battle on court one, trailing 2-0 in the third set against No. 74 Oliva Lincer. Mu-Jie Tzeng was also fighting through a third set, leading 1-0 to Udvardy before the match finished.

Baylor faces No. 25 TCU in Fort Worth on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. CT.
